Andrew wins VIC International Open 2011
Andrew Baggaley, Britain’s leading Table Tennis medallist of all time at the Commonwealth Games and a leading British Medal prospect at the London 2012 Olympics made the perfect start to the new season by winning the highly prestigious VIC International Open on 4th September 2011 in Spain.
Andrew, who did not drop a set on his way to the final defeated Spanish player Xavier Peral 3-0 followed by an equally convincing 3-0 Quarter Final victory over Spanish Super League player Marc Clotet.
At the Semi Final stage Andrew played French Professional Admir Duranspahic and again dominated proceeding as he swept to another 3-0 victory and a place in the final.
The final played to a capacity audience in front of Catalan Television was against the talented French Professional Jeremy Petiot which again witnessed Andrew take control of the match from the start to record a comprehensive 3-1 victory and lift the Men’s Singles title at the Vic International Open.
